Salem Twp. Public Library ends summer reading party with archeological dig

The Salem Township Public Library ends its Dig Into Reading summer program July 25 with a family party that includes an archeological dig.

The 6:30 p.m. finale includes making and eating mud buddies that will be washed down with worm juice.

That’s after digging up ancient bones as part of an archeological team. The bones will then be used to construct an 11-foot dinosaur at the library, 535 W. Pike St.

Grand prizes that include Kindle Fire tablets, Costco cash card, Meijer gift card, tickets to Kings Island, the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the Newport Aquarium, mugs, books, and toys will also be distributed.

Children, teens and adults will have until Friday to submit records of books read or activities participated in that qualify them for T-shirts.
