Bellissima Publishing, LLC’s author, Ohio native (Stephen Butterman, has written a very important book with a humorous bent about his battle with cancer. Illustrated by art educator and fellow Bucyrus native Adam Frizzell, no matter how hard you try you can’t help but to crack an ever so slight smile as you read That’s So Funny, My Hair Fell Out. And this is Butterman’s intent. He wants to pass on hope and understanding, along with a smile, while hitting hard at the truth of it all.
“This is a great book that should be read by anyone who is fighting cancer, has fought and conquered cancer or who knows someone who fits into any of these categories; and that includes just about everyone,” says Penny D. Weigand, CEO of Bellissima Publishing LLC.
This is the third Stephen Butterman book published by Bellissima Publishing, LLC. Butterman came to Bellissima with several book credits on his writing resume (Including Ride Guide: Covered Bridges of Ohio), and it turned out he was a perfect fit for Bellissima, at least as far as CEO Weigand is concerned. “We like to think of ourselves as a small publishing company with a message, a mission, and a heart, as well as a sense of humor,” Weigand adds.

Author Stephen Butterman has a BA in English from Ohio State University, where he won an unprecedented number of undergraduate literary awards, and a MA in creative writing from Eastern Michigan University. Illustrator Adam Frizzell has a MA in art education from Ohio State University, has published political illustrations in Ohio newspapers, and has shown artwork at Hopkins Hall Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. “All of this combined means excellence,” touts Weigand.
