Mason students’ stories published in latest Joseph anthology

Teen author Taylor Joseph included the writings of three Mason High School students in her anthology “Your Stories, Volume 2,” a collection written by students from across the United States.

Joseph personally selected and edited the submissions from sophomore Jessie Dibb (“The Drawing Journal”), sophomore Danielle Morey (“Saved”), and freshman Jessica Sommerville (“Replaced”). Sommerville wrote her piece as a Mason Middle School seventh grader, while Dibb and Morey submitted pieces they wrote in ninth grade. Former Mason Middle School student Marian Saad’s “The Everyday Life of a Gummy Bear” is also featured in the book.

Joseph's connection with Mason students began in 2011, when she visited the middle school in a tour of more than 100 U.S. schools to promote literacy along with her own writing. In 2012, Morey and MMS students Erin Beaudry and AnnMarie McNamara were featured in Joseph’s “Your Stories, Volume 1.”

“I am so honored to have Taylor choose another one of my pieces for this book,” said Morey. “She is such an inspiration!”

The Mason High School and Mason Middle School media centers received advance copies of “Your Stories, Volume 2.” The book will be available in local Barnes and Noble Booksellers stores and online at in time for the holiday shopping season.
