Mason Family Pet Hospital celebrates 10th anniversary with open house

Mason Family Pet Hospital is celebrating 10 years in business by hosting an Open House at the hospital, 770 Reading Rd. Suite B, Mason on Sun. Sept. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend and bring their pets, tour the hospital, and meet the veterinarians and staff.
There will be many prizes, including goody bags, raffle baskets, and valuable products given away. Pets that come dressed in costume can compete in a costume contest. A professional photographer will be present to take pet photos. Free nail trims will be offered to all pets in attendance. There will be educational and fun trivia displays. Food and drinks for both humans and pets will be provided.
Mason Family Pet Hospital was founded in September 2003 by Mason native, Dr. Ruthann Fox Carr. She is the daughter of Dr. Thomas E. Fox, who was a prominent family physician in Mason for over 30 years. “I opened the hospital because I felt that the people in our area needed an affordable option for good quality veterinary care. I am thankful to my caring, professional staff, my supportive family, and our loyal clients for making it a success,” said Dr. Carr. In 2012, the hospital won a Super Service Award from Angie’s List for its consistently high ratings.
Mason Family Pet Hospital has grown to include three other veterinarians, Dr. Sarah Compton, Dr. Erin Alessi, and Dr. Jacob Wasserman and provides care to over 6,000 clients. Their usual hours of operation are 8 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm on Fridays, and 8 am to noon on Saturdays. The hospital provides full service medical, surgical, and dental care and accepts dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pocket pets as patients.
Staff members will also host a booth at the Mason Heritage & Bicycle Festival on Sat. Sept. 14. Go to their website at or call 513-398-8700 for more information.
