Mars Hill Academy presents Leave it to Psmith

Junior high students at Mars Hill Academy will make their stage debut with P.G. Wodehouse’s Leave it to Psmith.

The whodunit comedy will be staged at 7 p.m. Nov. 8-9 at the Mason school’s St. Andrews Hall, 4230 Aero Drive.

Young lovers Freddie Threepwood and Phyllis Jackson can’t get married until Threepwood amasses 5,000 British pounds.

To get the money, Threepwood hires Psmith, played by Ben Wong of West Chester Township – a debonair young Englishman – to leverage the famous Doleworth Dianmonds. But another group is trying to steal the diamonds.

“Our junior high performers are having a great time preparing for this show,” said Peter Cunningham, director. “The show has all the hallmarks of Wodehouse’s impeccable humor and the students are enjoying performing British humor at its finest.”

Cast members include Sam Beatty, Holly Edwards, Meghan Ramsey, Andrew Cunningham, and Sam Bennett, all of West Chester Township; Brianna Smith, Noah Zimmerman, Hannah Min, and Quinn York, all of Mason.

Also: Heather Merhout, Liberty Township; Francis Hultgren, Oregonia; Sarah Isaacs, Morrow; and Sam Grantz, of Fairfield.

Tickets are $5 each with a family maximum of $20 per night. They can be purchased at the school office.
