Line the route for the arrival of the Vietnam Traveling Wall

The Clermont County Veterans’ Service Commission, in partnership with the Union Township Board of Trustees, will host the American Veterans’ Traveling Tribute from Thursday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, Oct. 13, at Union Township’s Veterans’ Memorial Park, Glen Este-Withamsville Road and Clough Pike.

The memorial will arrive at Veterans’ Park about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. It will be traveling from West Harrison, Ind. with an honor escort of the Ohio Patriot Guard riders. Anyone else who wishes to join the escort is encouraged to do so; cars and motorcycles are both welcome.

The procession will leave West Harrison at approximately 4:30 p.m. and proceed via Interstate 275 to State Route 32 east. From State Route 32, the procession will turn right onto Eastgate Square Drive (at the McDonald’s) turn left onto Aicholtz Road, turn right onto Glen Este-Withamsville Road, then left onto Clough Pike and into the park.

The public is invited to watch the parade as it moves along the route to the park. You are welcome to join others from Whole in My Heart support group. Park in the Salvation Army parking lot. The group plans to line the route from State Route 32 to Aicholtz Road. Wear red, white and lube, bring a flag or two (and a chair). The support group would like to see people start to arrive between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Whether you join the Whole in My Heart group or line other parts of the route, come out and welcome the Traveling Wall to Union Township.
