Fenwick celebrates alumni weekend Aug. 2-4

Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future is the theme of the Bishop Fenwick Anniversary Weekend Aug. 2-4.

Alumni from throughout the school’s history will find some way to connect with former classmates during the weekend gathering at the school, 4855 Ohio 122.

Established in 1952, the Middletown school will honor its graduates from the classes of 1953-56 with a memorial mass Friday afternoon. Graduates, their spouses, and spouses of graduates who have passed, are invited to the 2:30 p.m. mass.

Presiding at the mass will be the Rev. Fr. Ed Pratt, a 1981 Fenwick graduate. A reception follows in the media center.

Saturday’s activities begin with the 5K Fenwick Memory Run/Walk. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the school. It includes a free quarter-mile fun run for children. Cost is $25 for the run or $20 for the walk.

Archbishop Dennis Schnurr will be the celebrant at the 4:30 p.m., Saturday, anniversary mass that will be held in the school’s main gymnasium. A slide show follows.

A big roast dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., at the school. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for students and children.

The Dyle Babcock Memorial Alumni Soccer Game begins at 7 p.m., following a 6 p.m. intra-squad scrimmage game. A silent auction follows.

Formal activities conclude Sunday with the Golden Falcon Brunch at 11:30 a.m. for the Classes of 1953-63 at the school. There is no cost.
