Lebanon Christmas parade is still on

LEBANON — Mother Nature won’t put a damper on Father Christmas in Lebanon.

Organizers of the 25th annual Lebanon Carriage Parade & Christmas Festival say they have no plans to cancel the Saturday event due to weather.

“The city of Lebanon has assured us that all streets will be cleared of snow by 7 a.m., so we’re moving forward and having our event Saturday,” said parade organizer Mikki Caston of the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber is the event’s sponsor.

The all-day festival is set for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in historic downtown Lebanon.

The festivities draw some 200,000 people for the Warren County seat’s biggest event of the year.

Event highlights include a 1 p.m. afternoon carriage parade and a 7 p.m. evening parade featuring more than 125 decorated antique carriages pulled by minis, Clydesdales and Percherons, among others.

The parade routes begin at Oakwood and Broadway and circle back through the central business district of downtown Lebanon.

In between parade times, festival-goers can visit more than 80 antique, specialty and boutique shops or browse the food and craft vendors at the Christmas Festival on Mulberry Street.
